This presentation reviewed how preparers can use the Online application to request new accounts or update information for the Idaho Department of Labor, Idaho State Tax Commission and the Industrial Commission.  In addition, helpful tips to help ensure your clients receive the proper accounts are shared.

    December 7: Annual Withholding Reconciliation and W-2 Completion ( view archived presentation - no CPE credit, but great information!)

This presentation covered the annual reconciliation of state withholding, proper completion of the state portion of Form W-2 and common errors to avoid.   In addition, information was shared about the correct W-2 information to include when filing electronic individual income tax returns and the steps that the Tax Commission is taking to validate withholding information prior to issuing refunds.

This presentation covered the steps required to successfully file W-2s electronically.  In addition, helpful tips that will ensure error free uploads were given as well as covering a validation tool that is available for preparers that file for multiple clients.

     February 8: TY2010 Income Tax Best Practices ( view archived presentation - no CPE credit, but great information!)
This presentation covered what's new for TY2010, best practices, and how to avoid common errors when filing an Income tax return. In addition, the correct W-2 information to include when filing electronic individual income tax returns and the steps the Tax Commission is taking to validate withholding information prior to issuing refunds was covered. Information on how the Tax Commission is validating the eligibility for taxpayers claiming Grocery Credit on returns was also provided.

  • You will receive the log-in link via email the day before the webinar begins.

  • You will need to respond correctly to 90% of the polling questions throughout the presentation to be eligible to receive CPE credit.

  • You may opt to listen to the audio over your computer speakers. Should you choose this option, there isn't a registration fee. Please select the appropriate session above

  • You may opt to call an 800 phone number to listen to the audio. Should you choose this option, there is a $20 fee to cover the cost of the phone call. In order to receive the phone number, you must select the appropriate session.

  • MAC USERS You will have to call in on the conference call option and will not be able to see the video of the speaker - you WILL be able to see the presentation materials as well as the polling questions. There is a $20 fee for calling in.
