Tax Manager (On Site)

Our CPA firm is growing and we are in need of an on-site Tax Manager!  Could have rapid path to Partner if a great fit. Great benefit package (including health insurance premiums for employee AND FAMILY paid for 100%) with new office near the booming borders of Eagle and Meridian, Idaho.

Hours: typical tax firm hours during busy season, but we are committed to full time employees not working over 2,080 hours in a year and we utilize comp time in addition to paid time off to help offset those peak times and allow for a more humane work-life balance overall.

Company size: ~12-15 FT and PT employees

We are looking for someone to help us build and maintain relationships with our current individual and business clients, as well as future clients.  In addition to providing tax support and services, you will have the opportunity to interact with those clients and help with Firm Management and vision. Our firm sees our clients as friends, and we enjoy taking care of those friends.

Responsibilities

– Manage Firm operations and workflows towards timely completion and meeting all required deadlines
– Prepare and review tax returns
– Supervise Firm’s tax preparers, including mentoring and elevating staff
– Tax planning and strategizing with clients
– Respond to client inquiries and answer routine tax-related questions
– Research tax issues
– Oversee all tax related decisions and activities in the Firm, helping us stay tax-compliant and up-to-date on new tax laws
– Resolve client tax issues by interacting with the IRS and State Tax Commission
– Small group tax presentations
 

Qualifications

– Excellent customer service skills
– Excellent communication skills, with clients, staff, and partners
– Excellent organization and project management skills
– 5+ Tax Seasons under your belt, including reviewing others’ work, tax planning with clients, and researching complex tax issues  
– Experience with Trust returns and Reviewed and Compiled Financial Statements 
– Current CPA license
