If your business is a prime contractor or subcontractor with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), this pertains to you -

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a framework recently adopted by the DoD that is designed to assess and verify that appropriate levels of cybersecurity controls and processes are in place to protect controlled unclassified information that resides on contractor and subcontractor networks. The DoD plans on rolling out CMMC in a phased approach. The first phase is a required cybersecurity self-assessment that must be completed by November 30, 2020.

According to Idaho PTAC, all American businesses are encouraged to use the free Cyber Readiness Check tool provided through ProjectSpectrum.io to complete a NIST SP 800-171 cyber self-assessment. Project Spectrum is the approved vendor for the DoD Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS). For more information, please visit Idaho PTAC's project webpage or contact Lee Velten from Idaho PTAC at (208) 562-3746 or leevelten@boisestate.edu
