    Egbert Megan

     

    Megan Egbert is an employment attorney with Idaho Employment Lawyers and a Representative in the Idaho Legislature for District 17. She works closely with employers to help them navigate workplace issues before they escalate into costly disputes, bringing a practical, solutions-focused approach shaped by her prior experience in management roles within public libraries and nonprofit organizations across Idaho. Appointed to the Legislature in 2024 and elected later that year, Megan serves on the Health and Welfare, Commerce and Human Resources, and Energy, Environment and Technology committees—giving her a unique perspective on how employment laws are created, interpreted, and applied in real-world business settings.

    Megan enjoys helping business leaders and advisors understand complex legal requirements in a clear, approachable way, and she is passionate about equipping professionals with practical guidance they can use to better support their organizations and clients.

    Kessler Lexy

     

    OVERVIEW
    Lexy Kessler is a Partner in Aprio's Assurance Services Practice and is a trusted advisor to business leaders and changemakers in the Mid-Atlantic region. She previously served on the Aprio Board of Directors and led the firm's Government Contracting segment. Throughout her career, Lexy has helped clients balance the challenges and opportunities inherent to operating successfully and mentored young professionals to create a positive impact in the profession. She is constantly seeking new ways to reinvent and improve upon the way her team serves clients. 

    EXPERIENCE
    With 40 years of experience in the public accounting industry and extensive experience in assurance, tax, and consulting, Lexy is passionate about helping clients adapt to an ever-changing market, transforming challenges into opportunities. She achieves this by taking a proactive role in helping her team address clients' needs, develop strategies for their long-term business needs, and rethink their approach to doing business. Lexy also collaborates with regional leaders in the business community to discuss new ideas for strengthening the Mid-Atlantic business ecosystem.

    Lexy has earned several accolades over the years, including AICPA's "Most Powerful Women in Accounting" for three consecutive years, "Maryland's Top 100 Women" which led to her induction as a "Circle of Excellence" member, MACPA's "Women to Watch," and the Washington Business Journal's "Women Who Mean Business." Most recently, she has been named in Accounting Today's list of "Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting" and Forbes' 2025 list of "America's Best-in-State CPA's."

    EDUCATION & AFFILIATIONS
    Lexy earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland. She serves on numerous boards, including serving as Chairman of the Board for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants. She is also a Board of Trustee Member of Marymount University. Moreover, she is Treasurer of the Professional Services Council (PSC). Lexy is a former Chairman of the Board of the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA) and the Choral Arts Society of D.C. She also previously served as the Chairman of the National Pipeline Advisory Group, focusing on the development of an inclusive national pipeline strategy for the accounting profession and the modernization of the licensure for CPAs. These roles have allowed her to contribute to the growth and development of the accounting profession and the community. 

    Lantz Laura

    Laura Lantz joined The Idaho Society of CPAs in June of 2017. After eight years, she is still thrilled with the Society and the impact it makes with Idaho CPAs, their clients, at the legislature and with students.

    Relationships are the key to everything, both personal and professional, so having a good core group of peers is essential. Laura dedicates herself to foster an environment at the Idaho Society where professionals can network, learn, and engage with each other.

    Laura was named as one of Idaho Business Review's 2022 Top 50 Women of the Year, is a member of the Idaho Financial Literacy Coalition and on the Board of both the Idaho Liability Reform Coalition and the Idaho Society of Association Executives.

    Yost Aaron

     
    Aaron Yost, Government Affairs Manager

    Appointed to the position of Government Affairs Program Manager in March 2022, Aaron is responsible for legislative outreach, representing the Tax Commission on issues related to laws, rules, and legislative activities. 

    On top of managing legislative relations, Aaron oversees the Tax Research Unit, which provides responses to complex tax-related inquiries and advice on the fiscal, economic, and administrative impact of existing and proposed tax laws and rules.

    Prior to joining the state, Aaron served as an Operations Manager for Ajinomoto Foods.

    Aaron earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Silliman University and has pursued different career paths in leadership, production, sales, and marketing.
